The Comic
The first brief set was a group task to create a comic book based on a children's nursery rhyme. The comic had to be as a group our own interpretation of the nursery rhyme, this meant that as graphic designers and illustrators we could intertwine our artistic abilities to create a well presented comic. The greatest aim of this brief I believe was to enhance our team work skills whilst developing our mindsets to learn how to collaborate creatively.
I did enjoy the process of this task as I was able to connect with new people on the course, however even though I really do love the finished product and believe as a team we worked really well together considering we had never met! I felt from my point of view as a graphic designer I couldn't contribute to the process as much as I was hoping for, I wasn't quite as confident at digital work during this time and with a short time scale I only got given the work to edit and make the cover with a day until the deadline to complete, so this is where I felt I lacked in my efforts. Furthermore working alongside two very talented illustrators I didn't feel I had as big of a part to play, this is not a major downside as I can look back at my capabilities towards my digital work and time scales and realise that I have improved both since this first brief was set, plus I get on with both the girls in my group well and we all got to know each other a lot better!

As a group we brain stormed and shared our own ideas and interpretations of the nursery rhyme over online calls and realised we all had a strong and similar outlook on the message we wanted to convey about stereotypes and gender rules.

Here I created the final front and back covers I also digitally enhanced the colours of the drawings and added the speech bubbles in with the nursery rhyme. This task pushed my digital abilities and emphasized the importance of team work.
