The Chair Task
For the beginning of this brief we were tasked with creating as many chair designs as we could think of within a time frame of around 1hr 15 minutes (roughly I think!) - The idea of this task was to understand the importance of quickly visualising ideas within a small space whilst understanding how the use of colour in visuals impacts the message to the viewer.
When I was doing this task I had a timer of 4 minutes or less per thumbnail. These are far from perfect images, however I was able to fully understand the quick thinking process of coming up with as many different ideas as possible rather than spending time on one or two images and over-thinking.

Thumbnail Visuals
For this brief the task was to create three final visuals of a poster advertising a play of choosing from the list given, I chose Hedda Gabler. One of the main objections in the brief was to create 40 thumbnail visuals, then develop these down to 5, then to 3 and develop them so they were presentable enough to a client.
Prior to beginning the thumbnails I wanted to be thorough with my research about Hedda Gabler as it was a play I had never heard of and I also wanted to understand the true essence of this play and how I could best portray this as an advertising poster, I researched several theories about the play and also read through the whole script- which did take up a lot of time however I believed this helped me understand the characters, props in scenes, layout and the overall tone from the play, this resulted in my ability to extract important information from the play and then produce the 40 thumbnails.
I found this task to be an interesting challenge as It made me really think in a different creative way, with the task of meeting requirements for a 'client' but also what would appeal to the public as advertising and show the vibe/essence of the play.
