The Fundamentals of Type

Layout & Hierarchy

For this brief the task was to create 3 posters with the choice of copy each with an individual set of rules. I chose the Type Writer Revolution copy. The three sizes of poster were as such, these are the rules I chose for each:
140 x 140 one typeface in one size and it's bold
115 x 207 two typefaces, each in two sizes
245 x 100 one typeface in as many sizes
The main objective for this task was to use layout and hierachy to place the information in the copy to create an engaging or informative poster.

Research

To begin with I looked into typographic posters which took my eye, these were mainly from Pinterest but caught my attention to give me ideas for thumbnailing.

Thumbnail Sketches

I started to design my posters on layout paper. This was at the start of the semester before I realised and learned the quickest and sketches are not the greatest, especially if you want to reference from them...even I don't fully understand what I was trying to get across! However, this is something I have moved on from and learned what not to do.

Digital Developments

Personally I was not a great fan of the work I produced for this project, I felt I could of done much better. I do not have much work to show as at the time I was not overly inspired.
