Red, The Exhibition
The Brief
For my dissertation I wrote about the importance the colour Red has had in society, art, history and in marketing design from the 1700's to the present day. Therefore, I wanted to create a project where I was able to link my dissertation topic with a brand where I felt it was best represented.
Research
I researched a varying style of museum exhibition designs and locations before decided Tullie House was the right fit for the brief. Next, I visually researched exhibition and styling to find the correct fit for the advertising.
Development
I had a certain styling idea in mind already, which I knew involved bright bold colours paired with the traditional view of the paintings that the exhibition was going to be around.
I did not want to have the obvious and create everything to revolve around the colour 'red' even though this was the main attraction it was also to attract a younger clientele to the Museum space. A chunky typeface and bold colour was my go to in catching peoples eye and being more appealing, to excite rather than bore.
This resulted in many copies of a similar lay out and theme to figure out the most appealing design.
